The two dapper gentlemen of The Two Man Gentlemen Band
First off, this outfit is a total and blatant knock off of, ahem, interpretation of a recent outfit of Lulu's. Ironically, I did not wear my bowler for this outfit like she did, and rightly so, because the dude from Paleface wears one and being twins can be awkward. That said there were lots of man hats present that evening, and I bonded with the two gentlemen above, one of whom asked me if I "looked this fetching every night". To which I replied "yes". This outfit seemed to go over well with the male contingency that evening. I'm guessing it had something to do with the stripper shoes, thigh highs, and mini skirt. Dare I say it still looked classy? I guess that's up to you to decide.
I totally broke my promise to blog more often. I would promise again, but we'll just see how it goes. I've been neglecting everything in my life these past two weeks. My blog, my studies, and my housekeeping. I have been going out a whole lot, as it is apparently my current obsession. My obsessions are cyclical, but I always have an obsession. It has gone from cooking (I once had a cooking blog...) to Warcraft to nutrition to fashion blogging to philosophy to my social life. And I get intense about these obsessions and tend to spend every waking moment focusing on them. A balanced person I am not. That said, I've worn outfits, gotten so drunk I hit on my dude friends, and fallen over. I saw lots of lovely bands play this weekend and promise to blog about them all. First up would be my Friday night affair...
I went out and saw Paleface and The Two Man Gentlemen Band (with whom I'm pictured above). They are both rad bands from New York that, as per usual, I highly recommend checking out. Paleface will make you swoon, and The Two Man Gentlemen Band will make you lol. And for the record, yes, the two gentlemen dress like that all the time. They were in town for three days and were out drinking like champs all three evenings. They have a song about fancy beer and another song about William Howard Taft and his girth. Bright stuff. I have a platonic crush on them, and by platonic crush I mean if I weren't very much married and in love I would have totally tried to sleep with Andy Bean. Just sayin'. I guess I have a thing for smug, witty men in straw hats. But who doesn't, amirite?
I caved and cut my bangs, as you can see. I just couldn't take it anymore. I guess I'm addicted to fringe. Oh! And damn, son, how could I have forgotten? I recently wrote an article on how to dress "geek chic" for Everybody Is Ugly... and you can find it here. Is it hotornotdotcom?? Yeah, I thought so. I have other photos and other stories regarding this weekend, but I'm saving them because I strongly suspect that I will live in my AA shorts and t-shirt for another 24 hours. So know that I have a fun post up my sleeve for you tomorrow that involves me arguably not wearing pants. But since hats are the new pants... who needs fucking pants?

Darlin', so glad you're back!
I'm in phases of obsession/addiction/forgetfulness, as you and I had agreed on my own post. This week it's knee highs. Next week, it will be dog training.
Until we finish the seasons of the show, it will be watching Lost, and neglecting studies.
I just caved into my bangs this morning, too. And I'm ashamed to admit that I also had a Warcraft obsession once and have let dust collect on whatever school shit I was supposed to be doing for the last two weeks while I spent money I don't have on drinks and noise.
But at least our bangs are straight.
I love the pictures! I think you were made for each other, you like one of the band! A very well dressed band I might add :)
And aw, well I love your bangs, they look great! Were you trying to grow them out though?
xoxo,
S-C
I like the skirt and hat
The Two Man Gentlemen Band are clever musicians/history buffs who write songs about the Titanic, William Howard Taft, the Memphis Flu, Stonewall Jackson and the Hidenberg. Their instrumentation is delightfully simple: four-string banjo, upright bass, tambourine, cowbell, triangle and two novelty horns.
